Water Sensitive Solutions is a consultancy providing expert advice and design for sustainable water management projects. We focus on stormwater and Water Sensitive Urban Design (WSUD). The company was started by me, Jay Jonasson, an environmental engineer with extensive experience gained in both the public and private sectors.
I have worked on a number of award winning projects, and I am widely published and recognised in the area of WSUD both in Australia and internationally. I am frequently invited to present at seminars and workshops related to urban water management and also lecture in Water Sensitive Urban Design at University of Technology, Sydney.
After working for a private consulting company focusing on WSUD and drainage I moved to local government where as lead environmental engineer I had the opportunity to follow projects through their whole life cycle. At Council I delivered a number of stormwater harvesting and water reuse projects and developed some innovative raingarden and bioretention designs.
My involvement in WSUD ranges from scoping and concept development through to detailed design, construction supervision and then ongoing operation and maintenance. Based on my on-ground experience, I will recommend solutions that really work and that are tailored to achieve your specific objectives.
With a thorough understanding of the whole life cycle of a WSUD project, Water Sensitive Solutions will ensure your expectations are exceeded, preventing expensive redesign and remedial works. We provide cost effective and affordable solutions, and currently work in Australia is carried out in cooperation with a network of highly experienced and likeminded professionals to ensure that our work is always of the highest quality.
We also develop innovative and interactive design tools for the industry to aid in decision making. This will ensure that money is spent where it provides the greatest environmental benefit.
